One of the key advantages of joining an established franchise is the assurance that they possess a deep understanding of the business growth process. At Razzamataz Theatre Schools, this expertise is clearly demonstrated through their significant investment of time, resources, and knowledge in launching innovative new products. A prime example of this commitment is the successful rollout of Tiny Tots, a class tailored for babies and younger children and their adult that has received fantastic support since its launch.
Tiny Tots not only meets the demands of local families but also exemplifies the thorough research and strategic investment Razzamataz makes in developing new offerings. This has been demonstrated in schools throughout the UK, including most recently at Razzamataz Carlisle and Dumfries where franchisee Debbie Mitchell launched in Carlisle at the beginning of June.
Recognising the increasing popularity of baby classes, Debbie leveraged her expertise and the comprehensive support of the Razzamataz network to create a welcoming space for parents and their little ones. With classes tailored for newborns and toddlers, Tiny Tots quickly filled up, demonstrating the effective marketing strategies and community engagement initiatives that Razzamataz provides to its franchisees.
“The success of Tiny Tots is a perfect example of how Razzamataz invests in its franchisees,” said Debbie. “The training and resources I received were invaluable, enabling me to create engaging and fun classes that both the children and adults could enjoy. I knew from having young children myself that parents really needed a place that they could go to with their babies and meet others in similar positions. I realised that we could provide this for them together with a fun and engaging activity that would build fantastic social skills for children while we could create relationships with families in the area. This is truly unique to Tiny Tots and is proving to be a valuable product to assist with business development and growth.”
The growth of Tiny Tots in Carlisle was impressive with two full classes and a waiting list within just a few weeks. Before launching, Debbie conducted in-depth market research to understand the needs of parents in her community. Armed with insights and the backing of Razzamataz Head Office team, she was able to create something original for her schools in both Carlisle and Dumfries.
“The sessions are so interactive and fun with fresh, modern songs that the adults enjoy just as much as the children,” says Debbie. “There’s a different theme every single week, with a wide choice of songs from nursery rhymes to Disney classics and chart hits, but all connected to a certain theme. There’s singalongs, light shows and lots of sensory play allowing for a different level of interaction for all the children. The babies can enjoy the colours and feel of things while the older children can practice their call and response to the teacher, introducing them to life skills they will need for school.”
The success of Tiny Tots has also positively impacted Razzamataz’s broader offerings, increasing student enrolment by 30 in Carlisle and 15 in Dumfries. This growth highlights the effectiveness of Razzamataz’s franchise model, which prioritises innovation and community connection.
“When you are a new parent, you have no idea what path your child will follow,” adds Debbie. “A baby starting with you at Tiny Tots could be embarking on a journey of eighteen years. These sessions are a lovely way to build relationships because you are spending time with the adults in the classes, building rapport and getting to know them as individuals. What I’ve loved is seeing people forge genuine connections. Whether it’s grandparents bringing their grandchildren or new mums and dads, many choose to stay for a coffee or head to soft play afterwards, building friendships and offering support at this crucial time.”
For those considering a franchise opportunity, Razzamataz offers a proven model for success. The brand is committed to researching and launching new products that reflect current trends and meet community needs. With a strong social media presence and comprehensive marketing support, franchisees can easily promote new classes and initiatives, just as Debbie has done with Tiny Tots.
“We are all encouraged to be consistent with our marketing so the schools already had a big profile in the community,” adds Debbie. “By launching Tiny Tots, we have amplified our message and included a whole new customer database who may be learning about Razzamataz for the first time. Ultimately I know what it feels like to be a new parent and the challenges that come with it so I’m really proud to be able to create a nurturing environment where parents can feel supported while their little ones explore the joys of performing arts.”
